I, too, have had the experience of being semi erect in front of other members at our nudist club. You are right that as long as the penis is still pointing down, its relatively innocuous. The problem for me was that that, once a I was in the danger zone, it wouldnt have taken much more stimulation to cause me to become fully erect.
